Happy Birthday Hubble

On this day in 1990...The Hubble Space Telescope was launched by the Space Shuttle Discovery. Pretty freaking cool. I have written about Hubble before. NASA and the ESA released a picture to celebrate Hubble's birthday. I think Hubble is one of the best achievements mankind had made so far - it is up there with landing on the moon, and harnessing the power of the atom to blow up a bunch of stuff at once.

Carbon fibers everywhere

I might be a little late, but Sony is making a notebook out of Carbon fibers. These little things are awesome! You can use them to detect neurotransmitters in a brain, or you can use them to build a lightweight airplane! On the left you can see a carbon-fiber microelectrode. These things are tiny - much smaller than a human hair - you can barely see them. I would like that notebook if anyone needs any gift ideas for me.

Dumpster Diving

If you know me, you know I love to dig stuff out of dumpsters. The internet has made my job much easier - thatns to GarbageScout.com. People can take pictures ot "treasure" they see on the street, and it gets posted for everyone to see. A pretty good idea.
